Legal assistant

The Legal Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Managing multiple attorney calendars in Outlook, coordinating meetings and appointments, corresponding with clients regarding availability; scheduling calls and meetings via Microsoft Teams
  • Scanning, saving, and uploading documents to our document management system (Imanage)
  • Drafting, proofreading, and revising letters, legal documents and other case materials with attention to proper formatting, spelling, and grammar
  • Redlining documents
  • Processing time entries for attorneys using Surepoint (LMS)
  • Answering attorney phones in a timely and polite manner
  • Effectively and calmly communicating with staff, attorneys and clients
  • Extremely organized, paying close attention to details
  • Covering for other Legal Assistants when necessary

Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Legal Assistant in a private law firm (Trust and Estates experience preferred)
  • Must work well with a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe
  • Excellent communication, proofreading, and organization skills
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and tasks
  • Ability to act as a Notary to stamp documents/attend meetings

Trust and Estates Associate

Seeking a Senior Trust and Estates Associate to join the team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’
experience, will handle Estate Planning and Estate Administration. LLM is preferred. Admissions to NJ
and NY and preferrable with FL admission.

Tax planning, drafting, as well as gift/estate tax preparation skills are necessary.

Commerical Real estate paralegal

 

Seeking a Commercial Real Estate and Corporate Paralegal to join our diverse, energetic and dynamic environment. The candidate will support the attorneys of the Real Estate Department with commercial acquisition, disposition and financing transactions. The candidate will also provide corporate support to all departments within the firm.

Responsibilities:

• Review of purchase and sale agreements for commercial real estate transactions

• Prepare and review due diligence materials

• Maintain a calendar of critical dates and deadlines

• Prepare and submit NJDEP and municipal OPRA Requests

• Review of title reports and surveys and ability to work with title companies to clear title issues

• Draft and review conveyance documents

• Review leases and prepare abstracts, rent rolls, estoppel certificates and SNDA's

• Satisfy lender checklists and requirements for financing transactions

• Review lender term sheets, commitment letters and loan documents

• Prepare and review closing and settlement statements with an understanding of how to calculate prorations

• Review of asset agreements for corporate transactions

• Prepare and submit corporate filings, including formation, amendment and dissolution documents

• Ability to file annual reports, biennial statements, and the like

• Experience with maintaining corporate books, including issuing, canceling and transferring share certificates and keeping transfer ledgers

• Prepare and file UCC-1 Financing Statements with the State of New Jersey and all counties

10+ years as a commercial real estate paralegal and 7+ years corporate experience Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-accredited program preferred

Extensive experience with Microsoft Office 365

Strong attention to detail

Exceptional organization skills

Experience with a document management system (OMS, iManage)

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to multitask

Capability to work with minimal supervision and shift priorities as necessary Knowledge of legal billing software

COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE ASSOCIATE

We are currently seeking a commercial real estate associate with at least 5 years of experience with commercial real estate purchases, sales, financing, and leasing.

Must be able to autonomously review and analyze due diligence materials.

Must be familiar with environmental matters and their impact on real estate transactions.

Experience with land use and development a plus.

Corporate experience a plus.

Admission to NJ State Bar required. Admission to NY State Bar preferable.
